ENGL 305 - Intermediate Workshop in Fiction

An intermediate-level fiction writing workshop. Close analysis of student manuscripts and published stories.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: English 205.
Repeatability: May be repeated twice for credit for a maximum of 12 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. gain continued experience in the practice of fiction writing. acquire a good understanding of the formal aspects of fiction;
  2. hone revising skills, not only of language but also of ideas. elucidate contemporary trends in fiction. begin to navigate magazine publishing.
