REC 610 - Strategic Leadership and Ethics in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism


Units: 3
Leadership in profit, nonprofit, and public organizations. Topics include talent development, resource allocation, communication strategies, ethical behaviors, and decision making.  

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Develop knowledge and understanding core concepts in the process of leadership and ethics.
  2. Identify the role of execution as the major job of business leaders.
  3. Compare various approaches in organizing work and developing organizational talent through the sharing of student experiences.
  4. Analyze the learner’s existing organizational system and develop a plan of action for implementation of an updated model of execution in the learner’s organization.
