Systematic introduction to the use of the chemical literature, including the use of physical library resources and online database searching.

Prerequisites: CHEM 332 with grade C- or better.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

locate the hardcopy and electronic tools chemists use to find information they need to support their scientific investigations;
extract useful information from these tools on chemistry and biochemistry topics;
construct two high-quality scientific presentations, one poster and one PowerPoint slide show;
recognize and avoid plagiarism;
format references correctly.
