MUS 262G - Group Applied Study: Voice


Units: 1
Group applied instruction in voice at the Lower Division performance level. Students will learn basic vocal techniques and perform repertoire for solo voice.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: Ability to read music.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 4 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Develop technical skills through pedagogically appropriate repertoire, exercises, and drills. Improve knowledge and awareness of musical style and performance practice.
  2. Develop effective strategies for learning new repertoire, solving musical problems, and increasing facility in singing.
  3. Bring a prescribed group of works to a performance-level standard of completion.
  4. Work with other musicians to refine musical performance in a collaborative environment.
