MUS 261G - Group Applied Study: Piano

Group applied instruction in piano at the Lower Division performance level. 

Strongly Recommended Preparation: Ability to read music.
Prerequisites: MUS 111.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 4 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Develop technical skills through pedagogically appropriate repertoire, exercises, and drills.
  2. Improve knowledge and awareness of musical style and performance practice
  3. Develop effective strategies for learning new repertoire, solving musical problems, and increasing facility at the keyboard.
  4. Bring a prescribed group of works to a performance-level standard of completion.
  5. Work with other musicians to refine musical performance in a collaborative environment
