MUS 699 - Departmental Thesis Units: 1-6 Development and writing of a research paper for submission to the music department, using a department-specified format. Supervision by a departmental committee, at least two of whom must be faculty members of the department of music. Oral defense normally required.
Prerequisites: Department consent Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Complete in-depth research into selected areas within their particular disciplines.
- Demonstrate knowledge of significant scholarship and/or creative output, consistent with standard graduate level expectations, in their respective disciplines.
- Demonstrate their mastery of the determined content through the creation and submission of a substantial written document.
- Present an oral defense of the final document.
