Intermediate keyboard skills for music majors.

Prerequisites: MUS 218A.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Perform all major and minor scales and arpeggios, 2 octaves, hand together. Perform chord progressions in multiple major and minor keys.
Perform major triads and inversions.
Provide one- and two-hand harmonizations to simple melodies.
Transpose simple melodies with accompaniment.
Improve reading and sight-reading abilities at the keyboard.
Prepare repertoire for public performance in front of peers and instructor.
Improvise appropriately leveled patterns within clearly defined parameters.
Perform introductory exercises in open-score and SATB/hymn formats.
Perform introductory excerpts in chordal and instrumental accompanying.
Perform introductory excerpts for transposing instruments
