ENGR 650 - Project Management


Units: 3
Holistic approach to project management. Planning, scheduling, organizing, managing projects i.e., product development, construction, information systems, new business, and special events. Mastery of key tools give you an advantage in the marketplace. Lecture Units: 2; Activity Units: 1.

Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand the importance of work breakdown structures and networks to planning, scheduling, and controlling projects.
  2. Ability to identify and rectify potential conflicts and problems that can occur on projects.
  3. An ability to use computer-based information systems for managing projects.
  4. Ability to communicate convincingly in writing and orally regarding the efficacy of a particular managerial decision criteria with various constraints e.g., time, budget and resources, etc. supported by description and application of relevant theories.
