Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Evaluate history as interpretations of the past based on evidence.
Distinguish primary sources from secondary works.
Identify scholarly sources using the University Library.
Distinguish among summary, paraphrase, and direct quotation.
Apply the Chicago-style citation system consistently.
Demonstrate familiarity with archives, both physical and digital.
Demonstrate systematic cataloging of source materials.
Evaluate historical arguments.
Present historical findings through oral projects.
Plan for completion of the major or minor in history, along with career preparation, certificates, and internships.
