HDEV 401 - Applying Theories and Methods in Human Development

Units: 4
Application of theories and methods learned in HDEV 301 and HDEV 302 to people, organizations, and/or settings in the community. Includes a service learning component.

Prerequisites: HDEV 301 and HDEV 302.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate critical thinking ability by summarizing, comparing, synthesizing, and critiquing interdisciplinary human development perspectives (SLO2; ILO1).
  2. Demonstrate the ability to access information, design, and conduct individual and/or group research projects, and present them clearly, logically, and persuasively (SLO3; ILO2,4).
  3. Demonstrate the ability to identify and address problems by applying human development knowledge in diverse contexts (SLO4; ILO3). and
  4. Demonstrate the ability to understand themselves reflectively and others empathetically (SLO5; ILO3,5).
