CHEM 447 - Major Organ Biochemistry

Detailed study of the unique biochemistry and metabolism of selected major organs and their interrelationships under various physiological conditions.

Co-requisites: CHEM 442.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Recall the anatomical characteristics of selected major organs;
  2. Outline their metabolic specializations;
  3. Analyze the relationship between the anatomy and functions of these organs;
  4. Summarize the interaction and the integrated roles of different organs under various physiological conditions;
  5. Formulate the correlation between structural and/or metabolic anomalies and metabolic diseases.
