MUS 410 - 20th and 21st C Styles and Techniques Units: 3 Intensive course that introduces students to the inner workings of European and American art music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Prerequisites: MUS 312. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Demonstrate understanding of the different genres and styles within 20th and 21st art music.
- Analyze and evaluate works of music in various forms in their technical, aesthetic, and historical contexts.
- Apply the knowledge learned in earlier theory courses to extended musical works.
- Implement the principles and concepts studied in class via performance on your area of emphasis.
