OTL 608 - Critical & Contemporary Practice in eLearning Design and Technology


Units: 3
It is essential for eLearning professionals to keep current in the field. Activities included but not limited to career outlook analysis, labor data analysis, gap analysis, critical issues examination, and in-depth discussion and implications surrounding the eLearning design and technology.

Prerequisites: OTL 601/851 and one of the following courses: OTL 602/852, OTL 603/853, OTL 604/854, OTL 605.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-line.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Analyze changes of online learners profile and changes to the eLearning design, technology, and/or administration over the last 20 years.
  2. Draw conclusions on current research, recent innovative ideas, and/or best practices about eLearning.
  3. Explain how teaching strategies, learning theories, technology adoption, and design methodologies contribute to the development of quality online curriculum in recent years.
  4. Formulate a strategy on implementing a successful online program based on recent eLearning developments.
