REC 481A - Recreation Therapy Internship A


Units: 6
600-hour recreation therapy internship. To be taken after completing major classes and 1,000 hours of experience in the field. Develop a capstone project that demonstrates knowledge learned throughout the program. Must meet university GPA requirements prior to enrollment.

Prerequisites: REC 476.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F OR CR/NC (student choice)
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Apply the therapeutic recreation process, use diverse, structured ways of thinking to solve problems related to different facets of professional practice, engage in advocacy, and stimulate innovation during the internship.
  2. Evaluate internship progress during 80, 160, 240, 320, 400, 480, 560, + 600 of completed internships hours.
  3. Develop an internship project.
  4. Evaluate Internship Midterm and Final Report.
  5. Examine Study Guide Assignments
