MGMT 601 - Leading People and Organizations


Units: 1.5
Course focuses on the study and practice of leadership in a multicultural environment. Develop problem focused, goal based leadership needed for innovation and change. Understand ethical leadership, explore leadership communications and leading teams.

Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing and department consent.
Credit Restrictions: Not open to students with credit for BUS 601.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MGMT 6225.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand and apply the fundamentals of effective leadership and influence, including relevant theories of leadership for individuals and teams in modern multinational organizations.
  2. Critically analyze the role of ethics in the leadership influence process.
  3. Apply cross-cultural and diversity awareness and skills appropriate in team building and leadership communication.
  4. Apply effective interpersonal communication skills in teamwork, and leadership.
  5. Demonstrate confidence in leadership communication and deliver an effective, inspiring, and motivating presentation.
