COMM 316 - Media and Government

Critical relationships between the news media and government.  Attention will be devoted to how the news media influence the nation’s social, cultural, economic and political development and how a lack of trust diminishes both critical entities. 

Equivalent Quarter Course: COMM 4150.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand and discuss how the media and government each work independently of one another and together how they are adversaries of one another;
  2. Understand and discuss how the media drive the nation’s social, cultural, economic and political development;
  3. Students will be able to explain the diminishing lack of trust in both the media and government.
