MGMT 680 - Sustainability Strategy


Units: 3
How businesses develop and implement strategies to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Students examine roles and responsibilities of managers and learn how to apply the tools of strategic management to the challenges and opportunities of sustainability.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: All CBE and University proficiencies.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MGMT 6460.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate understanding of the current and potential future state of global sustainability.
  2. Use business strategy, research, product and process design, supply chains, production, and commercialization concepts and tools to address the challenges and opportunities presented by sustainability.
  3. Analyze companies and their industries and develop strategies to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
  4. Assess innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities inspired by sustainability.
