HOS 475 - Internship Placement


Units: 1
Develop a career portfolio, including resume, cover letter, interview preparation, and personal branding information. Identify an internship site to meet all department criteria. With Internship Supervisor develop internship goals and objectives. Take one semester prior to HOS 498 - Hospitality and Tourism Internship. 1000 hours of experience in the field of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism is recommended.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: Completion of most HOS major courses and electives.
Prerequisites: Department consent.
Equivalent Quarter Course: HOS 4901.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Refine student career portfolio, including resume, cover letter, interview preparation, and personal branding information.
  2. Identify an internship site that will meet all criteria for the University and accreditation standards.
  3. Develop internship goals and objectives.
  4. Examine the interview process during a site visit.
  5. Compare internship site in various settings.
  6. Complete internship agreement form
