MGMT 677 - International Field Immersion


Units: 3
Deep explorations of the key factors influencing global business through a field trip overseas. International field immersion offers a mix of site visits and discussions with local business, organization, and government leaders to investigate entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, and culture.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate understanding of communication among people who ascribe to different values, beliefs and attitudes as framed by the norms of local culture.
  2. Analyze the region/country’s political/economic/cultural/social characteristics.
  3. Analyze how local businesses develop and implement strategies to compete in global markets.
  4. Recognize local industries with potential for high growth.
  5. Evaluate strategies of local companies facing competition from multinational companies.
  6. Develop strategies for companies considering entering the market.
