MUS 364 - African Drumming Ensemble Units: 1 Ensemble to explore repertoire for small and large combinations of African drums and percussion instruments. Field trip(s) may be required.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 3536. Repeatability: may be repeated for credit for a maximum of 4 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Students will be able to perform, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
- Students will be able to listen to, analyze, and describe music from Africa.
- Students will be able to evaluate music and music performances.
- Students will be able to understand relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.
- Students will be able to understand music in relation to the history and culture of Africa.
