MUS 281 - Vocal Coaching


Units: 1
Individual vocal coaching in collaborative music making for music majors or minors. Coaching times arranged according to degree recital expectations as outlined in the music major handbook.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Co-requisites: Minimum of one course from the MUS 261-269 series.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 2601.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 4 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Quickly identify rhythms and pitches and maintain pitch accuracy for application in performance or composition;
  2. Bring an enriched tone production with improved technical skills to the performance of their primary instrument;
  3. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with other musicians in a performance context; and
  4. Integrate musical ideas, methods, theory, and practice, and communicate them to others clearly and persuasively, in classroom and performance settings.
