MUS 236 - Basic Vocal Techniques

Class instruction in fundamentals of singing.

Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 2321.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Improve singing through regular practicing of vocal exercises and songs.
  2. Be come familiar with significant sources on vocal pedagogy and the art of singing. 
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the basics of breathing, posture, and good vocal tone production.
  4. Perform vocal music in solo and ensemble settings, demonstrating proper technique.
  5. Gain knowledge of vocal warm-ups and techniques for healthy vocal music as appropriate to a school setting.
