HIST 699 - Departmental Thesis Units: 1-6 Development and writing of a research paper for submission to the department which specifies its format. Supervision by a departmental committee, at least one of whom must be a Cal State East Bay faculty member. Oral defense normally required.
Prerequisites: Department consent. Equivalent Quarter Course: HIST 6909. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit, with department consent, for a total of 6 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Complete an independent research project in history.
- Understand contribution to secondary literature.
- Use archival sources to advance analysis of a historical topic.
- Uphold the standards and ethics of the discipline.
