HIST 691 - University Thesis


Units: 1-6
Development and writing of a formal research paper for submission to the University in the specified format. Supervision by a departmental committee, at least one of whom must be a Cal State East Bay faculty member.

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Equivalent Quarter Course: HIST 6910.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit, with department consent, for a total of 6 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Complete an independent research project in history.
  2. Understand contribution to secondary literature.
  3. Use archival sources to advance analysis of a historical topic.
  4. Uphold the standards and ethics of the discipline.
