ENGR 640 - Engineering Sustainable Supply Chains Units: 3 Implementation of manufacturing resource planning and control systems including demand forecasting, production planning, master scheduling, bill-of-material, and inventory master file. Capacity requirements planning and shop floor control. Introduction of sustainability concepts needed to design and produce new products and processes. Lecture Units: 2; Lab Units: 1.
Credit Restrictions: Not open to students with credit for INDE 440. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Convincingly evaluate the merits and strategic importance of product design and control process development.
- Apply forecasting, capacity planning, distribution requirement planning, inventory management and process mapping techniques.
- Understand the sustainability of a product’s design, manufacturing and operational requirements.
- Utilize taught techniques and tools in a team environment to select material for designing and building sustainable processes, and to communicate results orally and in writing.
