FIN 470 - Entrepreneurial Finance

Features of entrepreneurial finance.  Emphasis on examining the financing options available for ventures, the structure of different financing options and the characteristics of the venture capital industry.  

Prerequisites: FIN 300.
Equivalent Quarter Course: FIN 4305.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify the characteristics of start-ups.
  2. Compare and contrast financing options available to entrepreneurs.
  3. Analyze the roles and expectations of each participant in the venture capital industry.
  4.  Apply different valuation methods for ventures.
  5. Examine different options of exiting from the venture.
