HIST 490 - Independent Study Units: 3-4 By permission of the instructor, students may register for additional and/or in-depth study on a particular topic.
Prerequisites: Department consent and minimum 2.0 GPA. Credit Restrictions: For declared History majors only. Equivalent Quarter Course: HIST 4900. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units when content varies. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Complete independent work under the direct mentorship of a faculty member;
- demonstrate significant knowledge of major events and trends in the chosen subject;
- write and speak clearly and persuasively about historical themes and topics.
