MGMT 318 - Employee Relations and Employment Law

Employee-management relations. Topics include: defining the employment relationship; employment law; regulation and compliance; employee rights; alternative dispute resolution and grievance procedures; collective bargaining and preventative employee relations; and emerging issues in employee relations.

Equivalent Quarter Course: MGMT 3680.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Define various types of employment relationships.
  2. Analyze components of employment and labor law, including employee rights and employer responsibilities.
  3. Explain methods of alternative dispute resolution and grievance procedures.
  4. Identify emerging issues in employee relations and employment law.
  5. Develop and communicate informed opinions on complex issues in employment law and employee relations.
