MGMT 618 - Human Resources and the Law Units: 3 HRM decision-making in a complex and changing legal environment, covering key laws that encompass the employment relationship as well as emerging legal issues in HRM. The course focuses on application of legal topics to real-world HRM situations.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Identify and interpret key laws and regulations relevant to the employment relationship.
- Develop awareness of emerging legal issues in HRM field.
- Apply legal rules to HRM decision-making using ethical principles and risk mitigation techniques.
- Develop and defend informed opinions on legal issues relevant to HRM in written and oral communication.
