COMM 497 - Issues in Communication

Students will examine an important issue in communication, with attention to rhetorical, technological, critical, and cultural impacts; variable content.

Equivalent Quarter Course: COMM 3999.
Repeatability: May be repeated for credit when content varies for a maximum of 8 units.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify rhetorical, technological, critical, and cultural impacts of a selected issue in communication;
  2. Demonstrate understanding of interplay between rhetoric, technology, critique, and culture in a defined communication issue;
  3. Examine a selected communication issue for its overall rhetorical/critical/cultural impacts.
