ENGR 210 - Manufacturing Materials and Processes Units: 4 Mechanical, thermal and electrical properties of engineering materials, including metal alloys, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, and composites. Phase diagrams, heat treatments, materials selection. Traditional, non-traditional, and advanced manufacturing processes. Manufacturing process selection. Lecture Units: 3; Lab Units: 1.
Prerequisites: CHEM 110 and MATH 130. Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGR 2060 and ENGR 2070. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Ability to apply knowledge of engineering materials, their mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, heat treatments, and material selections;
- Ability to apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, and recommend the preferred manufacturing process in terms of product quality, quantity, and manufacturing costs.
