CMGT 430 - Environmental Issues and Green Building Units: 3 Fundamental understanding of environmental issues and sustainability. Issues such as land use, energy efficiency, water use, indoor environmental quality, life cycle analysis, and construction waste disposal. High performance construction and green building assessment systems.
Prerequisites: CMGT 207. Equivalent Quarter Course: CMGT 4300. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Students will identify the fundamental elements of sustainability;
- Students understand the Green Building Assessment methods (such as LEED) and apply them to a building;
- Students will evaluate the sustainability of a new or existing construction (Life Cycle Analysis, LCA);
- Students will describe indoor environmental quality issues and problems, including Sick Building Syndrome (SBS).
