CMGT 360 - Soil Mechanics and Building Foundations Units: 3 Engineering properties of soils and rocks such as permeability, compressibility and shear strength. Site evaluation for building foundations, dams, tunnels and highways. Slope stability.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Understand the physical properties and soil index properties of soil;
- Analyze and identify appropriate soil compaction methods;
- Understand the fundamentals of foundation design.
