CMGT 207 - Construction Methods

Methods in construction of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings; site, excavation, foundation, structural work, framing, reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, roofing, and finishes.

Prerequisites: CMGT 206.
Equivalent Quarter Course: CMGT 2070.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand the non-structural properties of materials that affect the building envelope;
  2. Describe construction methods for materials such as wood, concrete, and steel;
  3. Explain key building components from the foundation to the roof;
  4. Evaluate construction methods associated to building finishes and cladding.
