CMGT 630 - Environmental Issues and Sustainable Construction Units: 3 Fundamentals of sustainability and the greenbelt environment. Issues such as integrated design, delivery methods for sustainable projects, commissioning, greenbuilding assessment methods, and life cycle analysis are discussed.
Prerequisites: Admission to M.S. Construction Management program. Equivalent Quarter Course: CMGT 6300. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Understand the interaction between construction and sustainability, including its environmental, economic and social aspects (PLO 6,8).
- Analyze the different project delivery systems that facilitate the procurement and construction of sustainable buildings (PLO 6).
- Evaluate the most relevant building assessment systems and their interaction with commissioning (PLO 8).
- Evaluate the effect of sustainable construction on the life cycle of buildings (PLO 6,8)
