CMGT 630 - Environmental Issues and Sustainable Construction

Fundamentals of sustainability and the greenbelt environment. Issues such as integrated design, delivery methods for sustainable projects, commissioning, greenbuilding assessment methods, and life cycle analysis are discussed.

Prerequisites: Admission to M.S. Construction Management program.
Equivalent Quarter Course: CMGT 6300.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Understand the interaction between construction and sustainability, including its environmental, economic and social aspects (PLO 6,8).
Analyze the different project delivery systems that facilitate the procurement and construction of sustainable buildings (PLO 6).
Evaluate the most relevant building assessment systems and their interaction with commissioning (PLO 8).
Evaluate the effect of sustainable construction on the life cycle of buildings (PLO 6,8)
