MGMT 603 - Managing Complex Issues in Global Context

Managers face complex cultural, economic, political, technological, and environmental issues emerging in an increasingly dynamic global context. Using lectures, case studies, and projects, this course develops systematic approaches to managing a shifting array of complex issues in a global context. Formerly BUS 603.

Prerequisites: Admission to MBA program.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MGMT 6120.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Apply the basics of design thinking to come up with creative approaches to complex issues using innovative business concepts and models.
  2. Analyze dynamic patterns of interaction among institutional factors in major global regions of the world as they affect the ability of businesses to deal with complex issues.
  3. Analyze complex issues in a global institutional context using a stakeholder model approach.
  4. Apply contemporary business management knowledge to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
