REC 330 - Leadership in Small Groups Units: 3 Leadership styles, characteristics and skills of leaders, and effective communication strategies. Small group leadership for recreation professionals. Understanding group behavior, teamwork and motivation.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: HOS 100 and REC 100. Equivalent Quarter Course: REC 3401. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Analyze small group leadership techniques through communication and body style.
- Demonstrate ability to manage small group leadership dynamics.
- Identify ways to “read” the group you’re your message is effect.
- Develop strategies to address bad group dynamics.
