CMGT 206 - Construction Materials Units: 3 Introduction to the fundamentals of construction materials science, with emphasis on the origin, processing, properties, and use of materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and polymers.
Prerequisites: All of: CHEM 110, CMGT 101, PHYS 125. Co-requisites: PHYS 126. Equivalent Quarter Course: CMGT 2060. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Understand the fundamental behavior of materials. Identify construction materials and analyze their properties;
- Assess different construction materials in the laboratory;
- Understand the environmental impact of construction materials production, use, and disposal.
