ENGL 654 - Supervised Tutoring and Teaching Units: 2 Supervised internship with students in ESOL classes and tutorials. Course may be repeated, but repeated units may not count towards degree.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 6508 or ENGL 6608. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 10 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: CR/NC grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Participate in an internship with an experienced ESOL teacher.
- Provide assistance to mentor teacher.
- Write reflective journals about internship experiences.
- Plan and teach lessons for mentor teacher’s class.
- Participate in class discussions about assigned readings and internship experiences.
