ENGL 691 - University Thesis


Units: 4
Development of a formal writing project for submission to the University in the specified format. Supervision by a departmental faculty committee. (See also, “University Thesis Writing Guide,” www.csueastbay.edu/thesiswritingguide.)

Prerequisites: Department consent.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 6910.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Analyze and interpret selected literary texts in clear and cogent prose or (for creative writers) communicate a strong appreciation for the craft.
  2. Develop a significant creative writing project or project about literature, pedagogy, or  linguistics.
  3. Demonstrate facility with conducting independent research; demonstrate the ability to learn and write independently.
