BIOL 320 - Evolutionary Biology

A survey of the primary mechanisms underlying the evolution of natural populations. Topics may also include: principle methods of evolutionary analysis, history of life on Earth and a discussion of Evolution as it applies to the welfare of modern humans.

Prerequisites: BIOL 310.
Equivalent Quarter Course: BIOL 3130.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Define and explain organic evolution and the mechanisms underlying evolutionary change;
Apply the principles of evolutionary theory to all aspects of Biology and other natural sciences;
Identify and explain the major patterns and themes in the evolution of life on Earth;
Understand the relevance of evolution to their own lives as well as any field of modern Biology.
