STAT 672 - Advanced Multivariate Statistics


Units: 2
Advanced, computer-based applications of multivariate analysis. Topics may include ANOVA, canonical correlation, principal components, discriminant functions, factor/cluster/spatial analysis. Emphasis on actual data, report writing.

Prerequisites: STAT 631, and either STAT 650 or STAT 660.
Equivalent Quarter Course: STAT 6515.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Apply statistical methodologies, including descriptive statistics and inferential techniques.
  2. Program an appropriate statistical software package to produce relevant computer output.
  3. Interpret the results of statistical analyses appropriately.
  4. Communicate statistical concepts and the results of data analyses to non-statisticians.
