STAT 401 - Analysis of Variance for Psychology


Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: GE-UD-D
Analysis of variance including multiple comparisons and effect size. Factorial analysis of variance, interactions, repeated measures design, random effects design. Statistical analysis using SPSS. Analysis of real data and report writing.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Area D1-3 requirements.
Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better; and either STAT 310 or STAT 303.
Equivalent Quarter Course: STAT 4000.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).

  6. Explain in writing, using examples, how human diversity and the diversity of human societies influence our understanding of individual and collective human behavior; 
  7. Develop advanced skills in oral and written argument in the social or behavioral sciences.
