PSYC 350 - Personality Psychology


Units: 4
Critical review of method and content in the study of personality.  Historical development of the field, with attention to recent applications of scientific method to research questions within the field.

Prerequisites: PSYC 200.
Equivalent Quarter Course: PSYC 4610.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate familiarity with current empirical research in personality psychology, including new directions in the field, cross-cultural issues, and applicability to everyday life
  2. Identify the classic approaches and contemporary research methods used to study personality.
  3. Apply critical thinking skills to the scientific study of personality.
  4. Identify relative strengths and limitations associated with various theoretical approaches in personality psychology.
