Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Identify and define the theoretical concepts associated with ethical and moral behaviors in criminal justice;
Outline and explain the ethical priorities that influence the exercise of discretion in law enforcement, criminal court cases, correctional institutions, and in the promulgation of criminal laws;
Identify ethical dilemmas facing criminal justice professionals and the consequences associated with unethical choices and behaviors within the criminal justice system and in the broader context of society and the government;
Analyze real world ethical decision-making and identify the institutional and social factors that contribute to such decisions;
Identify institutional and personal strategies to promote ethical decision making within diverse and multi-cultural communities and institutional populations.
